Introduction

The strongest force that influences a human being in this world is fear.

Fear is a power that can break a person or build them.

It shapes a person’s decisions, thinking, worship, relationships, and the direction of their entire life.

The Qur’an says:

﴿ خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ ضَعِيفًا ﴾

“Man has been created weak.”

(Surah An-Nisa)

This built-in weakness becomes the root of fear —

yet it is the same fear that pushes a human being back towards his Creator.

Shaytan Uses Fear as a Weapon — Qur’anic Evidence

One foundational truth must be understood:

Shaytan plays the greatest game through fear.

The Qur’an says:

﴿ الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ ﴾

“Shaytan threatens you with poverty.”

(Surah Al-Baqarah)

And not only poverty —

Shaytan uses every type of fear as a weapon:

– Fear of death

– Fear of humiliation

– Fear of failure

– Fear of the future

– Fear of people’s opinions

Shaytan knows that when fear enters a heart,

faith becomes unstable,

courage collapses,

and a person forgets the power of Allah.

This is why Allah warns:

**Fear only Allah —

do not become a victim of fear,

and do not let fear deceive you.**

This truth forms the foundation of this entire subject.

What are the Main Fears of a Human Being?

There are countless fears in the world,

but all of them emerge from these primary fears:

1. Fear of Death

Fear of the unknown, fear of the grave, fear of the final outcome —

these shake the human heart deeply.

2. Fear of Humiliation and People’s Opinions

“What will people say?”

This one sentence destroys countless lives.

3. Fear of Poverty and Financial Loss

Fear of losing a job, business failure, loss of home, or loss of sustenance —

and according to the Qur’an, this is Shaytan’s strongest weapon.

4. Fear of Being Alone or Losing Relationships

The fear of breakups, betrayal, emotional loss,

or loneliness —

this wounds the heart the most.

5. Fear of Failure and an Uncertain Future

Many people never take a step forward because they fear failure.

6. Fear of Illness, Pain, or Old Age

Even though healing and sickness are both in Allah’s control,

fear still weakens the mind.

7. Fear of Speaking the Truth

Fear of powerful people, fear of loss, fear of confrontation…

this pushes society toward injustice.

8. Fear of the Unknown

“What will happen tomorrow?”

This question often suffocates the heart.

9. Fear of Losing Control

Humans want everything under their control.

When life changes, fear begins.

10. Fear of the Hereafter and Accountability

This fear is the most blessed of all,

because it keeps a person straight,

brings them towards repentance,

and humbles the ego.

Can a Human Become Free from These Fears?

Yes — but only through certainty in Allah.

The Qur’an says:

﴿ أَلَا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ﴾

“Indeed, the friends of Allah — there is no fear upon them, nor do they grieve.”

(Surah Yunus)

Whoever stands firmly upon Allah,

their fears transform into clarity, peace, and spiritual confidence.

Final Prayer

O Allah,

remove every false fear from our hearts,

and grant us only the fear that brings us closer to You.

O Allah,

Shaytan uses fear as a weapon to weaken us —

protect us from his traps,

strengthen us,

and keep us firm upon Your path.

O Allah,

fill our hearts with courage, patience, trust, and tranquility.

Replace every fear with light.

Replace every weakness with strength.

Replace every confusion with certainty.

O Allah,

prepare us for the day

when we will return to You

and submit our final paper with peace.

Ameen, O Lord of the Worlds.
